Noted for its "pulsing brilliance" and "taut accuracy" (Miami Herald), the Sona String Quartet is rapidly emerging as one of South Florida's finest chamber ensembles. Its unique programming and energetic performance style have excited audiences of all types in Miami and the surrounding region. Formed in 2012 after successful individual auditions for the Miami Music Project, the quartet's first performances were educational concerts for children in underserved schools. Sona's efforts were so well-received that they soon were invited to give several formal concerts in the area. The Sona String Quartet continues to provide exciting, high-quality music for social change through educational, outreach, and formal concerts. Recent highlights include a performance on the Heath Concert Series in Naples, FL, and a successful collaboration with international violin sensation Yi-Jia Susanne Hou. A crowd favorite, the Sona String Quartet is pleased to return to the Mainly Mozart Festival for its fourth consecutive season.
