Dear Friends of the Mainly Mozart Festival: It is with pride that we are presenting the schedule of the Mozart Festival's concerts. The Grand Ballroom of the Westin Colonnade Hotel will for the 17th year be the site of seven programs of wonderful and engaging chamber music, played on Sunday afternoons. Included in the programs are grand works which are known and loved: compositions by Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Dvorak, and other composers. At the request of our music lovers, we have again included a voice component in the schedule. The Festival will open with a bang - James Judd's Miami Music Project String Quartet - fresh and exciting! To order tickets, please see the contact
information listed below the calendar. Thank you for your
enduring support!

| THE CORAL GABLES CULTURAL AFFAIRS COUNCIL |
| The
Coral Gables Cultural Affairs Council, a not-for-profit
Florida corporation, was organized in 1992 to serve as a catalyst in
promoting all cultural manifestations in Miami-Dade County and other
areas of Florida. The Council has been producing various events itself,
among them the annual Mainly Mozart Festival, a series of chamber music
which in 2008 will be played for the 15th consecutive year. Since 1995
it has also been publishing the monthly Coral Gables Cultural Calendar,
a comprehensive brochure which is distributed free of charge throughout
the City and mailed to interested parties in South Florida. The Council
has been in the forefront of many of the County’s cultural and civic
initiatives, among them the liaison with cultural attachés of
foreign consulates and foreign cultural organizations operating in
South Florida. All Council members are volunteers. Civic-minded
residents, among them many arts professionals, they dedicate
their energies to fulfill the Council’s basic goal:
preserving and disseminating culture and strengthening our residents’
pride and sense of community. The Council’s fund-raising branch is the New World Festival, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Both are located at 1008 Alhambra Circle, Coral Gables, FL 33134, phone/fax: (305) 444-4755. The Council meets 8 times a year, on the last Thursday of the month. The 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. meetings, open to the public, take place at the Westin Colonnade Hotel, 180 Aragon Avenue, Coral Gables. The Council’s chairman is George Volsky, e-mail: georgevolsky@aol.com. |
