MAINLY MOZART FESTIVAL
FALL 2021 SEASON
We are beyond thrilled to be able to offer live, in-person concerts to you this fall. We’ve put together a season designed to invigorate our pandemic-weary souls and offer an exciting mix of cherished works and introduce new highest caliber artists.
We invite you to enjoy beloved repertoire like Mozart Violin Sonatas, Dvorak Dumky Trio alongside breathtaking virtuoso works such as Stravinsky Petrushka and Chopin Etudes and discover extraordinary talents of this season’s featured artists.
The featured performers of the season include violinists Geneva Lewis and Kevin Zhu, cellist Gabriel Martins and pianist Do-Hyun Kim. Collectively these artists are the winners of the 2021 Avery Fisher Prize, Concert Artist Guild, Sphinx, Paganini, Menuhin, Tchaikovsky and Vendome Competitions among many others. The performers will be joined by the festival’s artistic director and favorite, award-winning pianist Marina Radiushina.
The Covid-19 pandemic has created many challenges for all arts organizations, including MCMS. One of our main concerns has been to secure large, safe spaces that would allow for appropriate physical distancing. This year the concerts will take place at the gorgeous new cultural destination in Coral Gables, Sanctuary of the Arts (First Church of Christ, Scientist) on Saturdays September 11, 18, 25 at 4pm, with repeat performances at the Miami Beach Community Church on Sundays September 12, 19, 26 at 2pm. Please note that in-person events at the Sanctuary of the Arts (First Church of Christ, Scientist) currently are not ADA accessible. Alternatively you will be able to purchase a virtual pass to enjoy these events online. In addition, those patrons who are unable to attend in-person will have the opportunity to purchase a virtual pass to view the concerts in the comfort of their homes.
The health of our audiences, artists, community, and staff are very important to us. Please keep in mind that we are following the most up-to-date guidelines created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Florida Department of Health, local and state health officials, and industry standards to bring shared live-music experiences back to you this fall. All concerts will have a reduced audience capacity, and will be offered with distanced seating. The number of artists on stage will also be reduced, in order to allow for proper distancing between performers.
Masks are required, regardless of vaccination status
Vaccinations are strongly encouraged
In addition to our Fall 2021 Mainly Mozart Festival offerings, we have planned several exciting events throughout the 2021-2022 season. Stay tuned for further announcements!
We can’t wait to be with you! Together we will welcome back live music and explore our new venues in Coral Gables and on Miami Beach, connect online through virtual concerts and once again share the joy of live-music experiences.
Miami Chamber Music Society is committed to presenting world-class classical music performances to the audiences of Miami-Dade, commissioning new works in various artistic disciplines, developing educational initiatives, and maximizing the positive impact of art on the community.
