ADRIANA PIERCE, choreographer
Adriana Pierce is currently in her fifth season with Miami City Ballet under the direction of Lourdes Lopez. She also danced with New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theatre, The Kennedy Center, and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. She attended the School of American Ballet as a scholarship student and graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School in 2007. She created two pieces for the School of American Ballet’s Annual Student Choreography Workshop under the guidance of Peter Martins, and collaborated with Joseph Hernandez (Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo) on an interpretation of “Blowin’ in the Wind” (Corigliano, Dylan). Pierce has choreographed a variety of pieces to works by such composers as Menotti, Vaughn Williams, Nico Muhly, Peter Gabriel, and Raymond Scott, and recently choreographed for an O, Miami Poetry Festival 2013 event. She also directs/choreographs musical theater productions in New Jersey and teaches/coaches dance and drama privately.
